Hello data journalism enthusiasts!

Thank you for being a part of the MOOC, “Data Journalism Fundamentals” run in partnership with Google News Lab. You are among 4000 participants from across 127 countries! We hope it has been an amazing experience for you.

Besides the online learning you probably also want to meet each other, to chat and mingle, to discuss serious issues (on data journalism and beyond) and also have fun together. We hope to create such chances and build the community with you.

So please join us in the first community event of the MOOC, sponsored by Google. The event will take place OFFLINE in Hong Kong, but we’ll be streaming it to all of you live so you don’t miss a thing! Together we’ll reflect on this course and plan for the future, and some of the best projects from the MOOC will be showcased.

Moreover we’d like to hear from YOU - how you loved (or hated) the course, how you plan to go further in the field, and how we can help you. You can send in your feedback during the livestreams, or tweet those questions using #DataJournalismAsia. Some of the instructors will be joining in, and if you have any questions for them, do send in your questions beforehand to waliyah@hku.hk or karencw@hku.hk

Date: Saturday, 9th July 2016

Time: 9:30 - 11:30 AM (GMT+8)
